International Crackdown Shutters Nine Crypto Scam Centers, 276 Arrested

by admin April 30, 2026

written by admin

A Dubai police-led international crackdown on scam rings last week resulted in the arrest of 276 individuals and the shutdown of at least nine crypto scam centers, the US Department of Justice revealed on Wednesday.

In a joint operation with the FBI and China’s Ministry of Public Security, Dubai authorities arrested 275 people, with an additional person arrested by the Royal Thai Police.

Six people have been charged in connection with the scam centers. Four of the defendants and two fugitive co-conspirators were charged with federal fraud and money laundering in federal court in San Diego, according to the DOJ. If convicted, each offense carries a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison and hefty fines.

“The charges and arrests announced today reflect an international consensus that scam centers are unwelcome everywhere and must be rooted out…. In contemporary society, fraud is borderless, and law enforcement activity to combat it and eliminate it is as well,” said US Assistant Attorney General Andrew Tysen Duva.

The FBI reported earlier this month that Americans’ losses from crypto and artificial intelligence-related scams in 2025 exceeded $11 billion, with investment scams flagged as the most damaging.

Scammers used fake crypto investment platforms to deceive victims

All six defendants are accused of working for three different companies operating the scam centers, promoting fake crypto investment platforms and deceiving victims into making deposits.

FBI investigators have identified millions of dollars in losses caused by the criminal network.

“Today’s indictment demonstrates the FBI’s determination to identify, disrupt, and dismantle these global scam centers defrauding Americans no matter where they set up shop,” said Special Agent in Charge Mark Remily of the FBI San Diego Field Office.

European police shut down scam network with 450 employees

Meanwhile, in a separate police action involving Austrian and Albanian authorities, with support from Europol and Eurojust, ten people were arrested in connection with three scam centers in Tirana and Albania, Europol said on Wednesday.

Victims were drawn in by “seemingly legitimate online investment platforms,” advertised on social media and the promise of profitable investments, according to Europol.

Once registered, they were assigned a fake broker who pressured them into making investments. Losses from the scheme are estimated at more than 50 million euros ($58 million) and affected people worldwide.

“The scale and professionalism of the criminal network were evident in its structure, which involved up to 450 employees across various departments, including customer acquisition, handled by conversion agents, and customer service, managed by retention agents,” Europol said.

“Additionally, the network had dedicated teams for management, finance, IT, human resources and various back-office activities.”

Bitcoin Drops Under $75K After Fed Decides To Hold Rates: Will Bulls Buy?

by admin April 30, 2026

written by admin

Bitcoin (BTC) extended its two-day decline on Wednesday after the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) minutes confirmed the Fed’s decision to hold “the target range for the federal funds rate at 3-½ to 3-¾ percent.”

While the Fed maintains its goal of achieving “maximum employment and inflation at the rate of 2 percent over the longer run,” the FOMC minutes cited the “developments in the Middle East” as factors fueling an environment of “uncertainty” and the Fed stressed its desire to maintain optionality as it evaluates the “risks to both sides of its dual mandate.”

The Fed’s hold on rates aligned with market expectations, but Bitcoin remained fragile throughout Chairman Powell’s presser.

Hyblock CEO Shubh Varma described the price action as “the usual sell the news reaction after the FOMC,” but also noted that BTC “quickly recovered to pre-announcement levels within hours, showing strong underlying conviction.”

Adding data to back his market view, Varma said,

“The global bid ask ratio spiked to 0.3 (one of the highest readings), while open interest fell on the price drop. This is classic post-FOMC position squaring and stop-hunt behavior rather than conviction selling.”

Will support turn back into resistance?

After the FOMC minutes were published, BTC dropped to an intra-day low of $74,937, slightly below the 20-day simple moving average ($75,664) that some traders identified as critical to confirming BTC’s support-resistance flip.

As reported on Monday by Cointelegraph, following the break above the channel resistance on the daily chart, BTC required consecutive daily candle closes above the trendline, followed by a lower support restest in the $76,500 to $75,500 range.

While all the above have happened, failure to recapture the 20-MA and close above the trendline resistance could be interpreted as a loss of momentum within the bull trend, opening the path for Bitcoin to test the downside boundary of the near-4-month-old channel.

Related: Bitcoin falls as traders cut risk ahead of FOMC: Will Tradfi, spot ETF volumes bolster $70K support?

Prior to the Chairman Powell’s presser, Glassnode analysts noticed that Bitcoin traders were adding bearish leverage, citing rising open interest after Tuesday’s rally to $79,000, funding remaining neutral and a divergence between the spot and futures market cumulative volume delta (CVD).

Additional analysis from Glassnode’s The Week Onchain report depicted Bitcoin’s price action as “trapped below market mean,” where $65,000 to $70,000 act as support, but weak demand prevents the formation of sustainable rallies.

According to the report, Bitcoin failed to overcome its True Market Mean at $79,000 and a surge in short-term holders’ profit taking, along with margin futures flipping net short, has sapped away Bitcoin’s shorter-term bullish momentum.

While these factors increase Bitcoin’s sensitivity to a sharper downside move, the analysts said institutional flows into the spot BTC ETFs and rising CME open interest have helped to build a “dense accumulation cluster between $65K and $70K.”

This transaction represents a major step in VerifyVASP’s global expansion strategy, further establishing the company as a core compliance infrastructure provider for Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) across key international markets.

Consolidating the Travel Rule Ecosystem

The acquisition marks a defining moment in the evolution of the global Travel Rule landscape. Shih Yun Chia, the CEO of VerifyVASP said, “The Sygna acquisition underscores our commitment to setting the global standard for Travel Rule compliance through an expanded, objectives-based network. It comes at a pivotal moment, as the FATF and other relevant international bodies, regulators, and financial intelligence units worldwide drive more effective enforcement.”

Michael Ou, Founder and CEO of Sygna, said, “Sygna was created to help build trusted compliance infrastructure for the virtual asset industry, which is one of the world’s most demanding regulatory environments. We are proud of what the team has built in Japan, and we believe that this combination with VerifyVASP will significantly expand the reach and impact of that work. Together, we are in a stronger position to support VASPs with secure, efficient, and global Travel Rule compliance.”

As regulatory expectations continue to evolve, VerifyVASP remains focused on building a globally connected compliance ecosystem that supports VASPs, financial institutions, and regulators in establishing secure, transparent, and trusted digital asset markets.

Ohio Bill Would Classify Prediction Markets as Sports Betting, Add 20% Tax

by admin April 29, 2026

written by admin

Key Takeaways

▸ SB430 would treat sports event contracts as sports wagers, forcing exchanges to obtain licenses and pay a 20% tax on adjusted revenue.
▸ Regulators are considering penalties (including a proposed $5M fine) as courts so far side with Ohio’s authority, even before new legislation passes.
▸ If enacted, SB430 would almost certainly trigger federal preemption challenges, setting up another state vs. CFTC showdown.

Ohio’s attorney general and gaming regulators are already considering potential penalties for offering prediction market trading within the state, but that could become a clearer violation of state law if a new bill in the Ohio Senate passes. Ohio Sen. Bill DeMora presented his proposal on Monday to classify event contracts based on the outcomes of sporting events as sports wagers and require that exchanges obtain licensure from the state.

The bill would also tax revenue from sports-related contract trades, which would make Ohio the first to do so though others are considering similar measures. Should Ohio enact the statute, court challenges would be inevitable.

Ohio SB430 classifies sports event contracts as gambling

A hot-button issue in disputes between prediction market exchanges and state governments across the United States is whether event contracts on those exchanges that are settled based on the outcomes of sporting events fit within the legal parameters of sports betting. DeMora’s bill, SB430, would settle that question in terms of Ohio law.

The proposal includes text that reads, “‘sports gaming’ includes the use of a prediction market to acquire, sell, or trade an event contract that is contingent on the outcome of a sporting event.” Due to that distinction, prediction markets seeking to continue to allow Ohioans to trade contracts related to sporting events would have to follow the same procedures that licensed online sportsbooks in the state face. Those responsibilities include applying for licensure with the Ohio Casino Control Commission (OCCC) and paying the state a privilege fee of 20% of adjusted revenue from the trading.

SB430 has not yet been assigned to committee in the Ohio Senate. Whether and how far the legislation progresses may reflect the actions of other officials in the state.

Ohio attorney general, gaming regulators pondering options

Ohio officials have enjoyed success in their efforts to restrict prediction market trading within the state so far. Kalshi’s petitions of federal courts to block enforcement actions have failed to date.

As a result, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost is considering levying penalties against Kalshi, which might include a $5 million fine that the OCCC recommended. The lawsuit that Kalshi filed against Ohio officials still has yet to be adjudicated, though.

If federal courts continue to rule in Ohio’s favor, that could make at least some of the tenets of SB430 more about the letter of the law than the spirit of the law. Attorneys representing the state are already arguing that prediction market trading on sporting events fits within the parameters of Ohio’s existing gambling statutes.

Favorable court decisions could set that precedent in practice even if Ohio’s gambling statutes don’t explicitly state it. At the same time, enacting SB430 could give counsel for the state additional leverage to make their arguments.

Enrollment of the language of SB430 would not alter the federal preemption arguments that Kalshi has made, leaving that question outstanding for the courts to decide. Preemption could also become a pertinent issue in challenges to SB430 if it becomes law.

Constitutionality challenge imminent if Ohio enacts prediction markets bill

If SB430 builds momentum, prediction market exchanges and potentially the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) will likely have lawsuits ready to file the moment the new law takes effect. It’s possible that multiple entities could present the federal court for Ohio’s Southern District with complaints, too.

Common criticisms in such complaints are likely to focus on federal laws governing commodity exchanges. Statements in the briefs will probably try to make the case that it’s impossible for prediction market exchanges to simultaneously comply with the CFTC’s and Ohio’s regulatory frameworks, as the two are at odds with each other.

The ramifications of DeMora’s bill are yet another obstacle that prediction markets will have to overcome to continue offering prediction markets in the Buckeye State. Due to Ohio’s relatively unfriendly political environment for exchanges, the progress of SB430 merits close watching.

Stellar’s CMO says crypto must ditch hype and “get rich slow” to win mainstream trust

by admin April 29, 2026

written by admin

Why it matters: Crypto still suffers from a branding gap despite growing institutional adoption, according to Stellar CMO Jason Karsh.

Karsh said the industry leans too heavily on “esoteric words and verbiage” that alienate everyday users.
He argued crypto “peaked in public” too early due to speculative mania, distorting its real potential.
The bigger opportunity: rebuilding global financial rails to move and store value more efficiently.

The big picture: Stellar is positioning itself at the center of tokenization and cross-border payments as institutions enter crypto.

The network has focused on payments and real-world financial use cases since launching in 2014.
That long-term approach is now paying off as regulators warm to stablecoins and tokenized assets.
Karsh said the goal is to eventually move “trillions” of dollars on-chain, beyond early pilot programs.

Between the lines: Stablecoins are emerging as crypto’s gateway product, but messaging remains a hurdle.

Karsh called stablecoins “the killer first use case” because they mirror familiar fiat currencies.
Still, broader audiences remain skeptical or confused about how they work.
He suggested reframing them as programmable dollars that earn yield and move instantly.

What they’re saying: Karsh is pushing a sharp break from short-term, hype-driven crypto marketing.

“You need to try to get rich slow… create value every day,” he said.
He criticized projects that prioritize token launches over sustainable products.
Strong brands, he added, come from consistent execution and aligning product with messaging.

What’s next: The next wave of adoption may come from infrastructure, not speculation.

Karsh expects growth to come from replacing legacy financial systems with blockchain rails.
He predicts both humans and AI agents will drive transaction growth, with agents eventually dominating volume.
But near-term success depends on onboarding “100 million humans” first.

Czech Central Bank Chief Backs Bitcoin As 1% Investment

by admin April 28, 2026

written by admin

Czech National Bank Governor Aleš Michl used a Bitcoin industry stage in Las Vegas to defend a reserve strategy that mixes strict inflation control with measured exposure to digital assets.

He described the bank’s move to add a small Bitcoin allocation as a way to raise expected returns without increasing overall portfolio risk.

Michl said that when he became governor in mid‑2022, inflation in the Czech Republic was near 20%. He told the audience that the central bank pledged to bring inflation back to 2% within two years and met that goal through discipline, not “magic.”

He said money had been too cheap for too long, the currency had weakened, and there was too much easy money in the system. The bank responded by supporting saving and strengthening the Koruna, and its rule now is “to stay hawkish forever.”

Alongside that stance, Michl highlighted the scale of the Czech National Bank’s balance sheet. He said the institution manages about 180 billion dollars in foreign exchange reserves, equal to roughly 44% of Czech GDP, and described those reserves as among the largest in the world relative to the size of the economy.

The task, he said, is to “build for the future,” think ahead, and invest in a way that protects the country. That has meant shifting away from low‑return bonds and increasing exposure to assets such as stocks and gold through low‑risk portfolios.

Bitcoin has low long-term correlation

Michl said the next question for the bank was whether it could do more to build a stronger portfolio for the long run. That led to an internal debate over Bitcoin. He recalled first using Bitcoin to buy coffee in Prague and acknowledged that its price swings make it look risky, since its value can be higher one day and lower the next. He argued that other assets also move up and down and that the key issue for a central bank is how each asset behaves inside a broader portfolio.

According to Michl, Czech National Bank research found that Bitcoin has low long‑term correlation with many traditional reserve assets and does not move in the same way as them. Over longer horizons, he said, Bitcoin can provide returns that are not closely linked to other holdings. On that basis, the bank introduced a 1% Bitcoin position in its reserves.

In the bank’s analysis, he said, a 1% allocation lifts expected returns in Czech Koruna terms while leaving overall portfolio risk unchanged. “When you add Bitcoin to your portfolio it works better, returns go up and risk stays the same – that is diversification,” he told the audience.

Michl framed the move as part of a broader philosophy for central banking in an era of digital assets. His message to the crowd was to remain “conservative but innovative” in how institutions work and invest.

For the Czech National Bank, that has meant a strict anti‑inflation stance and a strong domestic currency, paired with a controlled experiment in using Bitcoin and other non‑traditional assets to strengthen reserves over time.

How to Use AI for Crypto Trading

by admin April 28, 2026

written by admin

In 2026, beginners are not looking for crypto trading bots only because they want “automation.” They want a simpler way to enter a market that moves all day, reacts quickly to news, and often feels too fast for manual trading.

That is where AI crypto trading bots are becoming more practical. A good bot can monitor price changes, follow preset rules, execute trades automatically, and help reduce emotional decisions. How to Safely Use AI Bots in Crypto Trading

Using an AI crypto trading bot safely starts with one rule: never let automation make risk invisible.

Beginners should start with small amounts. A bot can trade faster than a human, which means mistakes can also happen faster. Testing with a small balance or demo mode gives users time to understand how the bot behaves.

The second rule is to use liquid trading pairs. BTC/USDT, ETH/USDT, and other high-volume pairs are generally easier for beginners than thin altcoins with sudden price swings and weak liquidity.

The third rule is to set clear risk limits. Every bot should have a maximum trade size, stop-loss logic, take-profit plan, and limit on how many trades can run at once.

The fourth rule is to avoid over-optimization. A strategy that looks perfect in backtesting may fail in live markets. Beginners should look for consistency, not fantasy-level returns.

The fifth rule is to protect API access. When connecting a bot to an exchange, disable withdrawal permissions unless there is a very specific reason to allow them. For most trading bots, trade-only API access is enough.

The sixth rule is to monitor performance. A crypto trading bot should not be ignored after launch. Market conditions change, and a strategy that works in a sideways market may perform poorly during a strong trend or sudden crash.

The safest way to use AI for crypto trading is to treat the bot as an execution tool. It can monitor, trade, and manage rules, but the user still needs to choose the strategy, control risk, and review results.

Final Thoughts

The leading AI crypto trading bots for beginners in 2026 are not necessarily the most complex platforms. They are the ones that make crypto automation easier to understand and safer to test.

For hands-free users, MoneyFlare stands out because it focuses on managed AI crypto trading rather than asking beginners to build every rule from scratch. For built-in exchange bots, Pionex, OKX, Binance, KuCoin, Bybit, and MEXC offer simple access inside familiar trading environments. For users who want more control, 3Commas, Cryptohopper, Bitsgap, Coinrule, TradeSanta, WunderTrading, and Altrady provide stronger automation workflows. For technical learners, HaasOnline, Gunbot, Freqtrade, and Hummingbot offer a deeper path into algorithmic crypto trading.

The future of AI crypto trading is not about removing the trader completely. It is about giving beginners better structure in a market that never stops moving.

Crypto is volatile, emotional, and open 24/7. That makes it difficult for manual trading, but highly suitable for automation. Used carefully, an AI crypto trading bot can help beginners trade with more discipline, test strategies more clearly, and avoid some of the emotional mistakes that often hurt new crypto traders.

In 2026, the smarter question is not simply “Which bot can make money?” The better question is: which AI crypto trading bot helps you trade with clearer rules, better risk control, and less emotional pressure?

Key takeaways from ORBS treasury assets in the past week

ORBS management believes the Company’s treasury portfolio holds some of the most critical components for the future AI and digital financial system. Among the holdings, key highlights in the past week are:

OpenAI shipped GPT-5.5 and extended its lead on independent benchmarks
MrBeast, founder of Beast Industries, was named to the 2026 TIME100
Regarding the Worldcoin token (WLD), OpenAI founder, Sam Altman, recently stated on a podcast with Pantera Capital, “World is now on the way to being a real human network for the internet… Our goal is to make World ID be this new proof of human for the internet.”

Highlight: OpenAI ships GPT 5.5

On April 23, 2026, OpenAI released GPT-5.5, a re-architected model purpose-built for agentic execution. GPT-5.5 set state-of-the-art performance on Terminal-Bench 2.0 at 82.7%, the leading benchmark for autonomous task completion across complex command-line workflows (per OpenAI). Within two days of release, NVIDIA deployed GPT-5.5-Codex internally to more than 10,000 employees on its GB200 NVL72 systems, reporting a 35x reduction in cost per million tokens and a 50x improvement in throughput per megawatt versus prior generations (per NVIDIA).

Highlight: Worldcoin to become ‘proof of human’ for the internet

Since the April 17 World Lift Off event, World ID has rapidly activated across major consumer and enterprise platforms. Tinder is rolling out a verified-human badge worldwide. Zoom uses it to flag deepfakes on video calls. Docusign uses it to confirm a real person is signing. Vercel, Browserbase, and Exa use it to verify AI agents operating on the open web.

“World is now on the way to being a real human network for the internet… We’re seeing this now with what you all and others are building, that people are really going to need this, and really going to need to do this in a privacy-preserving way. So World ID is our effort at that, and it’s been amazing to see the progress over the last year as people have adopted this and figured out how to integrate this into a new world of AI. Our goal is to make World ID be this new Proof of Human for the internet,” said Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI and Co-Founder of Tools for Humanity, speaking on a podcast with Cosmo Jiang of Pantera Capital.

Under World’s announced business model, applications pay per-verification fees while end-user verification remains free, with both credential issuers and the World protocol monetizing verified-human authentication. World identifies a $6.35 trillion combined addressable revenue opportunity across 13 industries spanning banking, e-commerce, gaming, social media, and agentic AI (per Tools for Humanity).

EIGHTCO: Exposure to key mega-trends

Eightco is built around three mega-trends the Company expects to shape the next decade of innovation: artificial intelligence, digital identity, and the creator economy, with positions in each trend through indirect investment in OpenAI (27% of ORBS’ treasury holdings), Worldcoin (21%), and Beast Industries (8%).

Artificial Intelligence — OpenAI

Eightco has invested approximately $90 million in special purpose vehicles with exposure to equity interests in the parent company of OpenAI, representing approximately 27% of treasury assets, one of the highest disclosed concentrations of any listed vehicle.

ChatGPT, OpenAI’s consumer app, has officially claimed the #1 spot for application downloads in the consumer AI category, overtaking TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook in monthly worldwide downloads in early 2026 (per Sensor Tower), making it the fastest-scaling consumer app of the year to date.

Digital Identity — WLD Token

Eightco holds over 283 million WLD, approximately 8.58% of circulating supply, the largest publicly disclosed institutional position globally and approximately 21% of the Eightco treasury’s assets.

Worldcoin is the native token of World, a global Proof of Human network built by Tools for Humanity (co-founded by Sam Altman and Alex Blania) and stewarded by the World Foundation. Its Orb devices issue a privacy-preserving World ID that verifies a user is a unique human, not an AI agent.

Creator Economy — Beast Industries

Eightco has invested $18 million in Beast Industries equity with an additional $7 million future commitment, or $25 million total; in aggregate, approximately 8% of treasury assets.

Beast Industries operates one of the largest direct-to-consumer reach footprints in the world, with a combined 500 million-plus follower base across platforms, anchored by MrBeast as the most-watched person on YouTube globally. As AI commoditizes content production, distribution and audience trust become increasingly scarce assets.

About Eightco Holdings Inc.

Eightco Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: ORBS) is a publicly traded holding company executing a first-of-its-kind Worldcoin (WLD) treasury strategy, providing investors single-ticker indirect exposure to three of the defining trends of this cycle: artificial intelligence through its indirect investment in OpenAI, digital identity through its position as the largest public holder of WLD and the Proof of Human protocol, and the creator economy through its equity stake in MrBeast’s Beast Industries. Backed by leading institutional investors including Bitmine Immersion Technologies Inc. (NYSE: BMNR), MOZAYYX, World Foundation, CoinFund, Discovery Capital Management, FalconX, Payward/Kraken, Pantera, and GSR, Eightco is building the infrastructure layer for human verification in the agentic AI era.

BitMart X $EAT Trade-to-Feed Competition To Pay Out $4.4M USDT To Traders In May 2026

by admin April 28, 2026

written by admin

New York, United States, April 28th, 2026, Chainwire

30-day Trade-to-Feed competition marks BitMart’s 8th anniversary and the exchange’s strategic listing of $EAT, the first cause coin.

BitMart, the global digital asset exchange serving millions of users worldwide, today launched the Trade-to-Feed competition, a 30-day trading competition paying out up to $4.4 million USDT in trader rewards. The campaign marks BitMart’s eighth anniversary and the exchange’s listing of $EAT (WYDE: End Hunger), the first cause coin to list on a major centralized exchange.

Cause coins are an emerging asset class engineered so that fees from trading activity flow to charitable grant-making infrastructure alongside trader rewards. By making $EAT the inaugural cause coin listing and pairing it with the largest competition in BitMart’s history, the exchange is positioning itself ahead of a category where market activity produces measurable real-world outcomes.

Running April 28 through May 28, 2026, the Trade-to-Feed competition distributes up to $4.4 million USDT across three concurrent tracks:

Three concurrent competitions, 76,391 chances to win.

The campaign runs three reward tracks simultaneously, all funded from a single pool that grows with volume:

Volume Leaderboard: Up to 73 traders share the leaderboard pool by rank, with the first-place trader winning up to $2.2 million USDT (50% of the total prize pool).
Power Drop: 75,500 tickets distribute across the campaign, each worth a flat $10 USDT. Any trader completing $40 or more in $EAT spot volume qualifies; tickets allocate proportionally to volume.
Lucky Drops: Up to 15 random USDT jackpots from $5,000 to $100,000, drawn weekly and at close, with a cumulative pool of $435K at the $200M cap. Any trader completing $2,000 or more in $EAT spot volume qualifies.

In addition, a Welcome Lucky Draw with a $5,000 USDT pool opens to any new participant who registers and completes a $5 USDT spot trade in $EAT, with 803 winners selected across three tiers.

To join or learn More: Trade to Feed (Up to 4.4M in rewards)

Where the meals go

Charitable distributions from the campaign flow through WYDE Association’s two-pool allocation model. Fifty percent of cause fees fund WYDE’s exclusive national hunger-relief grant partner, Feed the Children, a global movement working to end childhood hunger since 1979 that distributes food, essentials, and disaster relief across the United States and ten countries. The remaining fifty percent is allocated by $EAT token holders through community voting on the Hunger Network, a public directory of verified hunger-relief organizations available at www.eat.ong. Token holders direct funding to local food banks and partner organizations in their own communities each voting round, giving $EAT its core utility — holder governance over real charitable allocation, recorded on-chain and publicly verifiable.

“BitMart’s eighth year is the right moment to put real weight behind a direction we believe in,” said Chad Liang, EVP of BitMart. “Cause coins connect market activity to outcomes the world can see and measure. Listing $EAT and committing the largest competition in our history to it is how we mark this anniversary: by helping define what comes next, not just trading what already exists.”

“BitMart didn’t just list $EAT. They named a category,” said Aaron Rafferty, Co-Founder of WYDE.” A global exchange recognizing cause coins as a strategic priority is a structural moment. Every dollar of organic volume in the Trade-to-Feed competition also funds meals. That is the proof point.”

Bitcoin mining meltdown? Why IREN’s real future is in AI, according to Bernstein

by admin April 28, 2026

written by admin

IREN is pivoting from Bitcoin mining to AI infrastructure.
By 2030, analysts project $5 billion in EBITDA, with margins exceeding 80%

Artificial intelligence is the real opportunity for Bitcoin miners, analysts say.

IREN’s future now rests on transforming into a hyperscale AI cloud operator, rather than mining Bitcoin as it had done in the past, according to wealth management firm Bernstein.

Bernstein slashed its price target on IREN to $100 from $125 per share but maintained its “outperform” rating, citing the successful pivot to building its AI cloud business.

“IREN remains our top pick among AI focused Bitcoin miners,” analyst Gautam Chhugani and his three colleagues said in a note shared with DL News.

Bernstein’s positive rating lands as the cryptocurrency industry is still reeling from a $1.5 trillion drawdown since October despite stocks and other assets soaring to historic highs. The S&P 500 printed a new record in April, while gold and commodities also post strong performance.

Bitcoin is trading 40% below its October high of $126,000, meaning that miners’ business model is less lucrative.

Hello! This chart will be available in a few moments

Bitcoin price

AI bonanza

IREN’s repositioning comes as equity investors rotate aggressively into AI plays, despite widespread chatter of a bubble.

Technology companies have driven much of the S&P 500’s gains in recent years. In contrast, crypto-linked equities like Strategy and Bitmine have struggled as digital asset prices retraced from their highs in late 2025.

The Bernstein report says IREN has contracted 150,000 graphic processing units supporting annualised revenue of $3.7 billion once fully deployed, with roughly half already locked into a five-year Microsoft deal.

By 2027, Bernstein expects the AI cloud segment alone to generate $2.1 billion in adjusted EBITDA — a key metric for Wall street — as the company sunsets its Bitcoin mining operations.

Revenue projections illustrate the shift.

Bernstein models IREN’s AI cloud revenue surging from just $16 million in 2025 to $1.4 billion in 2027, overtaking Bitcoin mining as the company’s primary engine of growth.

By 2030, analysts project $6 billion in cloud revenue and nearly $5 billion in adjusted EBITDA, with margins exceeding 80%

The physical backbone of that strategy is IREN’s 4.5 gigawatt power portfolio.

Sites in British Columbia and Texas are being retrofitted for GPU racks, while additional capacity at Sweetwater and Oklahoma provides expansion optionality.
