CoinRabbit and GoMining have published a report on Bitcoin mining profitability, showing why managing mined Bitcoin is becoming as important as producing it.
The report highlights how the post-halving environment is redefining success in mining, with operators relying on stronger treasury management, capital discipline, and long-term asset strategies to navigate tighter margins. With the block reward reduced to 3.125 BTC and network difficulty near record levels, operational efficiency alone is no longer enough. The next phase of mining will be shaped by smarter capital allocation and long-term conviction in Bitcoin.
The Four Pillars of the Bitcoin Mining Efficiency Mindset
The report presents a clear framework built around four key pillars:
1) Operational Cost Efficiency
Low-cost power procurement, high uptime, efficient cooling, and disciplined maintenance remain the foundation of any viable mining operation. These factors determine the baseline production cost and are essential for competitiveness.
2) Collateralization Over Liquidation
Instead of selling freshly mined Bitcoin to cover expenses, effective operators are using it as collateral. This approach allows them to meet short-term cash needs while retaining full ownership and long-term exposure to the asset’s value.
3) Operational Liquidity and Tax Optimization
Bitcoin-backed lending provides flexibility to cover recurring operating costs, including power, hosting, and payroll, while avoiding taxable sales. At the same time, it preserves the deductibility of operational expenses.
4) Long-Term Vision and Capital Discipline
Sustainable operators treat mining as a disciplined, capital-intensive business. They maintain the flexibility to hold Bitcoin through market cycles and reinvest in hardware upgrades when opportunities arise, avoiding forced sales during downturns.
The full report can be downloaded here.
Walter Barrett, Chief Strategy & Growth Officer at CoinRabbit, commented: “Long-term success is built on conviction in the assets you hold and the discipline to manage them through different market cycles. At CoinRabbit, we are proud to work with clients who share this long-term vision and recognize the value of staying focused through periods of uncertainty. We appreciate the collaboration with GoMining experts and their contribution to sharing deeper industry insights with the mining community.”
Jeremy Dreier, Chief Business Development Officer at GoMining and Managing Director of GoMining Institutional, added: “In the post-halving environment, discipline is critical. The miners that are winning are those with efficient operations and cash put aside for this exact time. This is the best possible moment to deploy capital into expanding your fleet, because it’s cheap to add hash rate when Bitcoin’s price is down. There’s a lot of opportunity in the market. At GoMining, this is our third bear market, and we’ve seen that the operators who are prepared look at these conditions as an opportunity. Those who aren’t prepared are the ones who panic.”

MEXC, a pioneer in 0-fee digital asset trading, increased its market share in Q2 2026 and ranked No. 2 globally in commodity perpetuals market share, according to TokenInsight’s newly released Q2 2026 Crypto Exchange Report. The report provides a comprehensive review of trading volume, open interest, and TradFi perpetuals markets across major global crypto exchanges.
MEXC Expands Market Share Amid Industry-Wide Slowdown
Overall trading volume across crypto exchanges declined approximately 8% quarter-on-quarter in Q2 2026, falling to $16.5 trillion. Despite the broader market slowdown, MEXC’s quarterly trading volume reached approximately $1.412 trillion, with its market share rising from 7.17% in Q1 to 8.53% in Q2. This 1.36 percentage point gain was the second-largest increase among all exchanges tracked in the report.
Derivatives Market Share Ranks No. 4, Open Interest Climbs to No. 3 Globally
MEXC’s derivatives market share reached 9.51%, ranking fourth globally, placing it alongside Binance, OKX, and Bybit in a top tier that together commands more than 72% of the market. Meanwhile, MEXC’s average open interest market share rose from 8.62% to 9.21%, climbing to third place, up from fourth in Q1.
TradFi Momentum Drives Commodity Perpetuals to No. 2
TradFi perpetuals became a key growth driver for MEXC in Q2 2026, as the segment emerged as the industry’s fastest-growing product category. MEXC’s TradFi perpetuals trading volume reached $68.8 billion, giving it a 10.85% market share and a fourth-place global ranking. Within MEXC’s own platform, TradFi perpetuals accounted for 7.22% of total derivatives volume, the third-highest such proportion among major centralized exchanges.
Commodities stood out as the strongest-performing segment within MEXC’s TradFi perpetuals business. MEXC’s market share in commodity perpetuals — including gold, silver, and crude oil — rose from 10.6% to 14.7% in Q2, a gain of 4.1 percentage points. This was the largest increase among all exchanges tracked in the report. The gain brought MEXC to the No. 2 position globally in commodity perpetuals market share.
Product Expansion into Pre-IPO and Real Stocks
Building on this momentum, MEXC further broadened its TradFi product suite in Q2 with the launch of the SpaceX Pre-IPO Launchpad and RealStocks trading. The Pre-IPO Launchpad gives users early access to pre-listing markets, while RealStocks extends MEXC’s U.S. equities offering beyond contract-based price exposure to direct U.S. stock ownership, complete with zero trading fees and corresponding dividend entitlements. These launches mark MEXC’s expansion beyond TradFi contracts linked to gold, oil, and U.S. equities into pre-IPO opportunities and direct U.S. stock ownership, creating a one-stop gateway spanning crypto, TradFi, Pre-IPO, and real U.S. stocks.

The Bitcoin bottom may be in — but don’t get your hopes up: It might struggle to go up anytime soon, according to one investment firm.
A Friday report from European asset management firm CoinShares said that investors last week threw fresh cash at Bitcoin — and other crypto — exchange-traded products, indicating a change in sentiment.
But other factors may hold digital asset markets from going higher, James Butterfill, head of research at CoinShares, wrote.
“We have said for some time that Bitcoin has probably reached, or is close to, its floor,” the report read. “But we see no significant upside potential from here.”
The report added that current macroeconomic headwinds, such as the US bombing Iran and rising oil prices, could see inflation go up again.
Bitcoin’s price was up earlier this week, hitting a seven-day high of $65,501 on news that inflation in the US was softer than expected. It has since erased those gains and was recently trading for $64,010.
The price of Bitcoin has typically done well on news that inflation is coming down because investors expect interest rates to come down. But Butterfill said that “a rate cut does not look probable at this stage.”
Bitcoin’s worst run on record
CoinShares’ data showed that investors pulled a total of $8 billion out of funds giving crypto exposure — “the worst run on record.”
Last week, though, things reversed when $287 million hit crypto funds, CoinShares said, with the data so far showing that this week looks likely to be another positive streak.
The price of Bitcoin has typically done well when US investors — previously excluded from crypto investing — have bought shares in exchange-traded funds approved in 2024.
The products — handled by the likes of BlackRock, Fidelity, and Grayscale — allow more traditional investors or Wall Street institutions to buy positions in Bitcoin via shares that trade on stock exchanges.
Since BTC’s October all-time high of $126,080, crypto markets have faced a battering as those investors have fast cashed out of the funds. Bitcoin has struggled to make gains, especially after the US and Israel started bombing Iran, leading to a surge in the price of oil.
The leading cryptocurrency is now nearly 50% below its record.
“The dominant picture is that the current setup is prompting interest in adding positions, but caution prevails while sentiment remains broadly negative,” CoinShares added.
Mutsamudu, Comoros, July 16, 2026 – MEXC, a pioneer in 0-fee digital asset trading, today released its May–June bimonthly security report, reinforcing its role as a trusted global gateway where security and trust always come first. The audit indicates that MEXC’s Futures Insurance Fund surpassed a landmark threshold of 750 million USDT as of June 29, marking a substantial 34% expansion over the preceding reporting period. Concurrently, reserve verification data confirm that the coverage ratios for BTC, ETH, USDT, and USDC all remained safely above 100%, with Bitcoin delivering a reserve ratio of 269.35%.
During May–June, crypto security incidents remained elevated across the industry. According to aggregated data from major blockchain monitoring agencies, 142 independent security incidents were confirmed during the period, resulting in approximately US$194 million in verifiable financial losses. DeFi security incidents accounted for 55% of total incidents, with related losses of approximately US$150 million. Cross-chain bridges, private key management, and user endpoints emerged as the three major weak points in the industry’s security landscape during the period.
Against this backdrop, asset reserve transparency and risk-buffering capacity have become important foundations for user protection across trading platforms.
Futures Insurance Fund Grows to 751 Million USDT
Quantifying this safety buffer, the total balance of MEXC Futures Insurance Fund reached 751 million USDT by the June 29 close, marking a net capital inflow of over 191 million USDT relative to the prior bimonthly disclosure. This dedicated capital reserve serves as a primary systemic countermeasure designed to absorb unexpected liquidation slippage during periods of heightened market volatility.
By neutralizing excess delta risk, the fund systematically reduces the likelihood of activating Auto-Deleveraging (ADL) protocols, thereby ensuring orderly clearing conditions across all active derivatives markets. Real-time solvency tracking and live reserve balances remain continuously auditable via the public MEXC Proof of Trust interface.
Major Assets Continue to Maintain Excess Reserves, with BTC Reserve Ratio Reaching 269.35%
In addition to providing a risk buffer for the futures market, MEXC continues to enhance asset transparency through its Proof of Reserves mechanism, allowing users to verify asset backing directly on-chain.
As of the reporting date, reserve ratios for major assets were as follows:
- BTC: Reserve ratio of 269.35%, with 12,656.63 BTC held in wallets, corresponds to 4,698.90 BTC in user assets.
- ETH: Reserve ratio of 118.14%, with 77,527.30 ETH held in wallets.
- USDT: Reserve ratio of 113.95%, with approximately 2.139 billion USDT held in wallets.
- USDC: Reserve ratio of 125.41%, with approximately 95.41 million USDC held in wallets.
These reserve figures are publicly verifiable through on-chain wallet addresses and MEXC’s Merkle Tree-based Proof of Reserves system, enabling users to independently verify asset coverage.
Maintaining platform-wide custody standards, the MEXC Guardian Fund continues to operate its rigorous dual-reserve architecture consisting of USDT and BTC allocations. Every underlying crypto-asset remains fully segregated, verifiable, and tied to on-chain addresses that are permanently open to public audit. The strategic asset expansion roadmap previously disclosed by the corporate risk team remains fully underway.
Guardian Fund Wallet Addresses:
From risk identification to asset recovery, throughout the Entire Trading Journey
During May–June, user-side attacks also continued to increase. Phishing scams and endpoint & supply chain security incidents resulted in approximately US$28.59 million in related losses, highlighting the growing importance of account risk identification, external support for suspicious fund investigations, and asset recovery capabilities.
In terms of related user protection mechanisms, risk mitigation within the MEXC infrastructure extends far beyond baseline asset reserves, integrating advanced account risk identification, external forensic investigations into funds, and systematic recovery protocols for misdirected transfers.
During the May–June performance window, the platform’s financial intelligence unit successfully flagged and restricted 9,518 accounts linked to organized illicit syndicates, effectively dismantling 4,394 distinct fraudulent networks.
Geographically, these illicit operations exhibited high concentration vectors within two primary jurisdictions:
- Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Region: 2,096 fraudulent networks neutralized.
- Indonesia: 1,229 fraudulent networks neutralized.
In parallel with internal containment, MEXC significantly expanded its judicial and law-enforcement cooperation protocols. The compliance department processed 497 external statutory investigation requests, which included the successful execution of 53 judicial asset-freezing mandates. Furthermore, the platform’s real-time transaction monitoring systems intercepted 7 high-risk inbound illicit fund transfers, freezing a total of 303,277 USDT before it could contaminate the exchange’s broader liquidity pools.
Addressing user-side transactional errors, MEXC manually processed 812 individual asset recovery requests involving erroneous cross-chain deposits and misdirected transfers, successfully remediating assets valued at 343,515 USDT. Every sub-case was subjected to a dual-layer review protocol that combined manual asset verification with on-chain forensic auditing. Compliance teams deployed advanced multi-ledger cross-chain tracing techniques to locate, isolate, and safely return the misrouted capital to its rightful owners.
Vugar Usi, CEO of MEXC, said, “True trust is not built on promises made before risks emerge, but on whether protection remains visible and verifiable when challenges arise. With our Futures Insurance Fund surpassing 750 million USDT, together with publicly verifiable Proof of Reserves, we are reinforcing MEXC’s role as a trusted global gateway where security and trust always come first, ensuring every user’s assets are safeguarded.
